What a week. On Monday Kristi broke her left collarbone. If you’d like to see the x-ray check out my 365 blog entry for October 5. It was Andrew’s birthday, but we didn’t get to enjoy it because Ken and I had to take Kristi to the ER.
(Her arm is in a sling under her sweater.)
That was also the day that we discovered that someone was overly concerned about Andrew’s toileting problems, and made a referral to Child Protective Services. We ended up dealing with that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I have been told it’s all done and all is well now, but it was awful! It wasn’t just awful for us as parents. It was also hard on the kids who had already been through such things before. We’re still dealing with some of those issues, like a regression in Andrew’s toileting skills. ARGH!
Today I almost got locked in the elementary school during a lockdown! Someone who wasn’t thinking walked down the school street with a gun slung over his arm. The school had to lockdown until there was no danger to anyone. Unfortunately, I was inside the school at the time, and Dale and Caleb were outside in the car!!
The principal let me out when she found out my boys were out there. Whew! I almost came unglued thinking about being locked in for who-knows-how-long while Dale and Caleb waited – worried – in the car.
Dale is home sick today. I changed my shopping plans so I could stay home with him, but I was still going to hang with my ladies this evening…until Caleb started showing symptoms of being sick. I don’t think my ladies would appreciate me sharing those germs. Waaaaaahhhh!!
So, this all brings to mind my post on CafeMom a couple years ago about “Monkey Days.” This hasn’t been a Monkey Day, it’s been a Monkey Week!!
