Wasn’t it just June 6? I think the time since June 6 got lost in a time warp. June and July just passed waaaaay too quickly!
On July 16 my wonderful in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. To commemorate that amazing milestone we planned a surprise party for them including a surprise visit from their youngest son and his family, and a book of photos and messages that brought back many memories of the 50 years. The party was a success even if my prayers for cooler weather were answered a bit more thoroughly than we expected (thunderstorm, heavy wind, chilly evening). John and Barbara were surprised and pleased. The party was followed by a wonderful week-long visit with Jerry (their youngest son) and his family. Here are a few photos from that party.
During that week that Jerry and Evelyn were here we also had the opportunity to visit with a cousin of Ken and Jerry’s, along with her family who were traveling through from Arizona. None of the Scrivners had seen this cousin in 23 years. It was a fun afternoon with them, and the kids had fun at the park.
Since that fun and exciting week life has been just normally busy. I hardly picked up a camera at all, except for some cell phone shots of Little Man, and some flower shots at Mom’s house. (You can check those out on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.261719297177466&type=1 – if that link works.) Today I decided it was time to really use my camera, so I went outside and took pictures of everyone that was around my yard. We had friends, family, bikes, and HEAT. I didn’t get a shot of the heat, but it was HOT! Everyone was gathering under the maple trees because it was so much better under their shade. It was even better in the air conditioned house though! I won’t complain about the heat – it took a long time for it to get here, and I’m glad to finally get it!
Quick Little Man update:
He’s growing like a weed! He’s eating well, only waking once at night, and doing all the normal 2-month-old things…smiling, laughing, flirting, sleeping, pooping, staring, grabbing…so, essentially, he’s perfect! You will be able to catch glimpses of bits and pieces of him in the photos here.
So now I’m caught up…I’ll try to be more faithful in the coming weeks.
