I’m sorry it’s been such a long time

I certainly did not intend to let almost a month pass between blog posts! It seems that this year has been “January, February, March, April, May, Little Man, September…” I just can’t believe how quickly the last 3 months have passed.

We had a busy summer without as much family fun as we would have liked, but we have tried to get some activities in this month. We’ve been to the river a couple times…

That sure has felt good on the hot, hot days we’ve been having. Last week we finally got to go camping for 2 days. It was a quick trip just up the road, but it was fun. It was definitely needed! I read once that the family that camps together, stays together…I don’t know how true it is, but we sure do enjoy camping together.

We are getting ready to start the school year. We will be homeschooling the kids this year, and they’re a bit sad that they’ll miss out on the brand new school building, but excited about the changes. I’m eager to get started and get a rhythm going.

Life is Scrivnerburg would not be normal if things weren’t constantly changing… A couple of our recent changes include Fancy returning home from Indiana – she’s bunking with Kristi and looking for a job – and Ken beginning a night shift position at the local grocery store. He’s never worked night shift as a regular job before, so none of us were really looking forward to this change, but it seems to be working out okay. He likes the work and the people he works with, and the schedule isn’t wreaking too much havoc on our family. It’s been a blessing to have him working, for sure, and I’m very thankful for a man that is willing to work such icky hours for his family.

Little Man is growing and gaining skills every day. He’s the happiest, smiliest, talkingest baby I’ve ever had in my care. He’s just adorable, and all the kids love him! They vie for the chance to hold him, and whine when they don’t get chosen to feed him. This Little Man is definitely going to grow up believing he’s loved.

That’s all I have the energy for tonight, but I’ll try to post a little more often. Thanks for stopping by!
