Scrivnerburg hopes you had a wonderful Christmas day. We were busy ALLLLLLLL day long, but it was a great day. As expected, there is never a boring moment on Christmas day in Scrivnerburg. All the kids were thrilled with their gifts, and everything went exactly as it should have. A perfect day.
It started VERY early – 6 am – so we had time to open gifts before getting ready for church.
Kristi loved her Fur-Real Pet! The dog’s name is now Foofoo, and Kristi and Foofoo are very happy together.![]()
Nathan and Andrew are thrilled with their gifts, too – a Nintendo DS game and a remote control Spy Car.![]()
After opening gifts at home we had breakfast and headed off for church. Our pastor wanted us to dress up as our favorite Nativity character, so the kids all had costumes…![]()
Kristi was Mary, Caleb was Joseph, and the other boys were wise men.

Our pastor was a camel (with Austin on his back), and Felice was a star – this shot doesn’t show her star, but it was awesome! Pastor used all the kids in their costumes to help tell the story of Jesus’ birth. It was a great way to remind us of the reason for Christmas!
After church we went home for a few minutes – just to sit down for a sec – and then we headed to Nana’s for gifts and dinner.
There were a few gifts at Nana’s house. Of course, these did have to be parted out among 19 people…but it still turned out to be a LOT of gifts for everyone!![]()
The kids had so much fun tearing into everything!![]()
And the adults had so much fun watching them!![]()
All that chaos was followed by a great meal and fun conversation – which was probably followed by numerous naps! I never took one, but I would be willing to bet I was one of the only adults who skipped that part.
Now it’s on to the clean-up…
