School’s out for Christmas break!

We have made it through our first few months of homeschooling! We are done for 2011. I can’t believe how quickly it has gone! I’ve mentioned before that we have people who come in to help us with the kids’ reading – they have been such a blessing to us. I’m sure that’s why the year has gone so quickly and so  well – the 5 people we have who come in at least once a week to listen to our kids read.

To thank them, and to start off our Christmas break we decided to have a Christmas party. We put on some Christmas music, decorated ice cream cone Christmas trees, and gave our helpers gifts. Here are some photos of our party.

These were our gifts for the school helpers.

Once the party was over Ken and I parted out our kids (thank you Nana and Liner family!) and headed off to Great Falls for a meeting regarding Little Man. And I thought Scrivnerburg was busy before! We took these shots while we were off on our two-day adventure.

(Holiday Inn, Great Falls – this fountain is huge. I was on the 3rd floor when I took this picture. The bear is life-size – and it’s all festive!)

Little Man enjoyed the nice, comfy, king-sized bed. I enjoyed it too, because I was able to share it with two “boys” and not get shoved off the bed!

At our meeting we found out that the state will be taking the next necessary step in making Little Man a permanent part of our family. We are so excited! We still have a wait ahead of us, but at least we know which direction they’re moving now. We can’t wait for it all to be done!

Here are a couple shots taken from the truck on the way home. It was a good trip, and the roads weren’t bad.

Traveling home from GF
It was pretty blowy on the way back. That ghosty look is snow blowing across the road.

What a crazy-busy week this has been! Now I’d better get off this computer and finish up some of my Christmas preparations!

Be sure to check back for another update after Christmas – something tells me our Christmas will not be boring.
